Samsung UN55ES8000, March 13, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Samsung UN55ES8000 55-Inch 1080p 240Hz 3D Slim LED HDTV (Silver) (Electronics) Just received my tv today and not noticed any of the complaints the other reviewer is having. The picture quality in HD and 3D is very good standard definition is just standard it is not much any tv can do for low quality signal. The voice and gesture controls were easy to setup and they work just fine. I have not Samsung UN55ES8000 55-Inch 1080p 240Hz 3D Slim LED HDTV (Silver) had time to get into calibrating the color and other settings. I gave the tv five stars because it was everything I thought it would be. I don't think any tv will be perfect, but is close.

It is their flagship model. At the show I had already seen the Samsung's OLED TVs, and some of the 4K Ultra definition TVs. When I saw the Samsung ES8000 (75 inch size), I could not believe how well it looked both in picture and bright colors. It has a technology called Micro Dimming Ultimate. The TV had great contrast. I cannot comment on how it looked in a darkened room or a black screen, but this TV was the best picture I saw at the show from a regular 1080p LED TV, and I saw all the high end TVs at the show. It was a beautifully designed set as well. The 75 inch model I saw will be coming out later this year.

I'm having some problems, March 14, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Samsung UN55ES8000 55-Inch 1080p 240Hz 3D Slim LED HDTV (Silver) (Electronics) So I purchased a 55d8000 a couple weeks ago and it had always on blue pixels so I returned it to find that no more d8000 are available and the new es8000 is. So I bit the bullet and paid the premium for the 2012 unit.
So far my screen is freezing then resetting. It gets really slow and non responsive. This is surprising for a dual-core system that is supposed to be fast. I my have a defective screen. I will call Samsung tomorrow.
Additionally, it doesn't recognize my TVMobliLe server which all of my 2011 model TVs do recognize.
I'm getting slightly disenchanted. Hopefully Samsung will be able to give me some answers. I have a feeling that a RMA/advanced replacement is in my future. Updates coming soon.
